Since 1962 and now, there have been six different actors who played 007 in 25 different movies. If it weren’t for COVID-19, we would all have seen No Time To Die by now.

Even if we aren’t able to watch the 26th Bond movie for a while now, you can always go back to the top 10 James Bond movies, which I have systematized below based on IMDb’s list. Watch the gadget guru, the enigmatic man solving mysteries while pursuing ladies, and killing the antagonist basic on the Ian Fleming adaptations.

10. For Your Eyes Only (1981)
For Your Eyes Only is a definite peculiarity, which is why it’s one of the top 10 James Bond movies. Roger Moore returns as James Bond in this 1981 thriller where he kills Blofeld (in the pre-credits sequence), once and for all. The movie portrays 007 more like a super agent than a superhero, unlike its earlier renditions. You’ve got to love those ski chasing scenes.
9. You Only Live Twice (1967)
You Only Live Twice is one of the top 10 James Bond movies, unequivocally. The plot focuses on the US and Soviet, where their space capsules are being stolen in orbit, where both countries put blames on each other. The bond must stop the antagonist from creating World War 3. Moreover, Blofeld, Spectre’s leader, played by Donald Pleasence, makes an appearance.
8. The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
If one observes closely, The Spy Who Loved Me’s plot is a remake of You Only Live Twice. Roger Moore plays James Bond, who’s tasked with stopping a rich megalomaniac who plans to live under the sea by destroying the world with a nuclear holocaust. The action stunts and scenes are breathtaking. The movie also introduces the viewers to Jaws, one of the movie’s most popular henchmen. He later makes a come back in the 1979’s Moonraker.
We will skip over the fact that this movie’s plot, in which US and Soviet submarines are being stolen, is basically a remake of You Only Live Twice. This 1977 movie is Roger Moore’s best in the role as he has to stop a nuclear holocaust prepped by a rich megalomaniac who wants to instead live under the sea. Once again, there are some great action and stunt sequences, including one of the franchise’s best at the beginning of this movie. We also get introduced to one of the movie’s most popular henchmen, Jaws, who comes back in 1979’s Moonraker.
7. GoldenEye (1995)
After six years of License to Kill, Pierce Brosnan took on the mantle of James Bond, where he shows off his acting chops and his suaveness. This 1995 movie’s plot centers around an antagonist who stole Goldeneye, an orbiting EMP device. The movie reflects the after-effects of the Cold War. It’s one of the top 10 James Bond movies.
6. Thunderball (1965)
Sean Connery played James Bond for the fourth time in Thunderball, released in 1965. The plot revolves around valuable stones and some missing nuclear missiles that threaten England and the world. And who can forget the incalculable number of “Shaken, not stirred” martinis! Even though the plot got predictable at times, we have all relished 007 shoot some villains, woo pretty ladies, and blow up the antagonist’s majestic plans.
For me, A View to a Kill is the jewel in the crown. It was refreshing to see a woman antagonist who later aids Bond by blowing herself up. Well, that’s James’ charm.
